foyup editorial policy
foyup publishes practical guides for store owners, small businesses and creators — in Arabic for the Gulf, and in English for readers in the US, the UK and the rest of Europe. This page explains who writes them, how we research and review them, when we update them and how we correct mistakes.
Who writes the guides
Guides are published under “foyup editorial team”, an internal team at Social Developer LTD, the company that operates the foyup brand. We never publish under invented names or titles people do not hold, which is why the team name appears instead of an individual's.
foyup is a store that sells follower, like and view services. We say so plainly because it explains why every guide has exactly one section called “How foyup can help”; the rest of each guide is written to be useful whether or not you ever order from us.
How we research
- We start from official sources: platform help centres and the websites of government authorities and regulators (Gulf authorities for the Arabic guides; bodies such as the US Federal Trade Commission, the UK Advertising Standards Authority and the European Commission for the English guides), then reputable professional references where needed.
- Every statement about a platform feature, a regulation, an authority or a date carries a number that leads to its source in the “Sources” list at the end of the guide, together with the date we accessed it.
- We do not invent figures or write “studies show” without a study you can open. If we cannot source a statement, we remove it or present it as practical advice you can test yourself.
- Examples in the guides (an abaya shop in Riyadh, a candle shop in Manchester…) are illustrations we write to explain an idea — not customer stories or testimonials.
How we write and review
- Gulf guides are written in Arabic first, in clear Modern Standard Arabic with vocabulary familiar in the Gulf, and their English versions mirror the Arabic originals. Guides for readers in the US, the UK and Europe are written in English from the start and exist only in English. We do not translate other blogs or reuse text from our sister store SociShop.
- We may use AI tools for research and first drafts, but no guide is published before a team editor has checked every statement, its source and the language.
- We take care that examples and wording fit their readers — Gulf readers for the Arabic guides, readers in the US, the UK and Europe for the English ones — and we correct wording readers tell us is unfamiliar or inaccurate.
- Guides on legal or regulatory topics, such as advertiser licences, property advertising, ad-disclosure rules or consumer rights, are published by the operating company on its own responsibility after each statement has been checked against the source it cites; they receive no independent legal review before publication, which is why every one of them carries a clear note that it is general information, not legal advice.
What we do not do in our content
- We never say a platform approves of or is connected to our services; platform names are trademarks of their owners.
- We do not promise reach, sales or placement on discovery pages, and we do not publish manufactured ratings or testimonials.
- We accept no payment to mention a company or product in a guide and use no affiliate links. External links lead only to official or reference sources.
- We never type fixed prices into a guide; if a price for one of our services appears, it is read from the live catalogue when the page is rendered.
Dates and updates
Every guide shows its publication date and its last update. We change the update date only for a material change to the information — not for a comma or a design change.
We review guides regularly, and immediately when a platform changes a feature we explain or an authority changes its requirements. If we can no longer verify an older statement, we remove it.
Corrections
If you find an inaccurate statement or a broken link, message us on WhatsApp from the Help page with the guide's title and the sentence concerned. We check it, correct the text, and update the “last updated” date when the correction is material.
